The AI Pact: Establishing a Common Understanding Around The EU AI Act

The EU AI Act obtained the final approval from the Council of the EU on 21 May 2024 and is about to get enacted. Yet, its enforcement is going to take place gradually, with applications of the Act’s provisions being phased. As the Act brings many distinct and complex requirements, it is vital to get prepared for the upcoming legislative framework earlier on.

In this context, the European Commission introduced the AI Pact in November 2023, a proactive initiative designed to facilitate compliance efforts and to promote collaboration among market participants. Through the Pact, it is also ultimately aimed to enhance transparency, accountability, and trust in AI technologies.
