Many countries around the world have proposed AI legislation to codify responsible AI practices into law, but up until now, these efforts were typically constrained to national initiatives, with less international efforts. However, nations and governments are increasingly coming together to tackle the increasing number of challenges posed by the development of AI systems. Issues such as safety, security, trustworthiness, and the responsible development of AI are at the forefront of these discussions, and countries are realising the necessity of international cooperation in the creation of cohesive frameworks and approaches towards AI technology.
