On 23 January 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order, “Removing Barriers To American Leadership In Artificial Intelligence” (AI EO), that sets the direction of the administration’s AI policy. The AI EO emphasizes the administration’s commitment to solidify the US’ position “as the global leader in AI and secure a brighter future for all Americans”. It also notes explicitly that the US must “develop AI systems that are free from ideological bias or engineered social agendas.” To reach its aims, the AI EO sets out the plans to develop the administration’s AI policy vision and also implement steps to de-implement President Biden’s Executive Order 14110, “Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence.”
