The White House Publishes its Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights

As a result of several high-profile instances of harm resulting from the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to automate decision-making, AI risk management is starting to become a global priority. Several countries have proposed legislation and frameworks to ensure that AI is used in a responsible and ethical way to prevent further harms.
As part of its efforts to manage the risks of AI, the US has proposed an Algorithmic Accountability Act that would require impact assessments of AI systems used across the US to assess the level of risk that they pose. Similarly, DC has proposed the Stop Discrimination by Algorithms Act to prevent discrimination in automated decisions about employment, housing, and public accommodations and require audits for discriminatory patterns.
