Countries around the world are increasingly proposing legislation and regulations to promote responsible AI practices and reduce harm. However, much of this activity is occurring in the Global North, with the EU and US particularly leading this race. Elsewhere, in the Global South, the ecosystem is less mature, with regions such as the Middle East primarily proposing guidance. In this blog post, we narrow the focus to initiatives in Africa, examining the guidance on AI best practices that has been published in the region so far.
